Established in Perth in late 2002, Peak Well Services has expanded rapidly across the globe and is recognised as a high quality provider of specialist downhole tools to the well intervention sector of the oil and gas industry. Supported by an internationally recognised team of design engineers, Peak tools are built around a design philosophy focusing on three key elements: strength, flexibility and simplicity. Based on these principles and bolstered by impeccable service, Peak has become a leader in providing a comprehensive range of high quality slickline tools. Peak retains the intellectual property to all tools and has patented key market differentiating products. Peak has established key operating clients in Chevron, Total and Woodside as well as supporting the major oilfield service companies in Halliburton, Schlumberger and Expro. Peak is headquartered in Perth which is its centre for design, manufacture, marketing and sales and currently employs over 55 staff with offices in Perth, Aberdeen and Dubai. Peak is continuing to expand around the world with business in places as remote as Angola and Gabon in West Africa, Sakhalin Island and Siberia in Russia and Yemen in the Middle East. Most rewarding in some ways has been the expansion into Aberdeen, Scotland where by providing high quality tools and service, Peak has been able to successfully compete head to head with established European companies and win business in established markets. The recent move into the Middle East with the setting up of an office in Dubai, is part of Peak’s ongoing expansion plans and further internationalisation of its market. Peak believes the vast majority of its design and manufacturing will remain based in Perth. Even with the recent market turmoil and strengthening Australian dollar, Peak has found that it can remain competitive. The quality of skills available in Perth and the reputation of other Australian exporters in providing quality services, help maintain the image of Australian products and make Australian products attractive to the international market. Peak Well Services is a finalist in the Small to Medium Manufacturer Award category in the 2009 Industry and Export Awards.
